Westlake Village is a beautiful planned community with a lake at its center that straddles the Los Angeles and Ventura county line. The eastern portion is the incorporated city of Westlake Village, located on the western edge Los Angeles. Westlake Village is known for its affluence and secluded character, and is considered one of the wealthiest communities in the Greater Los Angeles Area  The City of Thousand Oaks is a premiere community recognized for being one of the most desirable places in all of California to live, work, recreate, and raise a family. Located in between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara in Ventura County, 8 to 12 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, Thousand Oaks is nestled against the Santa Monica Mountains and with over 15,000 acres of natural publicly owned open space located within the City’s boundaries. Westlake Village boasts many fine shops and markets. One of the main hubs is the Westlake Village Promenade. Here you’ll find great local restaurants like The Grill and Public School 805 and the luxury theater Cineopolis. Top spots to eat include Medeteranio and The Stone Haus located next to The Westlake Inn. Beauty shops like the Blow Dry Bar and Beauty Habit make going into town unnecessary.  Thousand Oaks has The Oaks Mall, which has everything from Nordstrom’s to Urban Outfitters. The Lakes is anther great shopping destination with the newly opened SunLife Organics and Unami Burger. They also have ice-skating in the winter!

Like many upscale hamlets, Westlake Village is well served by golf courses and country clubs. The Westlake Golf Course, andSherwood Country Club and North Ranch Country Club all serve the area. In addition much of Westlake Village is surrounded by open space, including hiking and horse trails, as well as the vast Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. There are five parks, Berniece Bennett, Canyon Oaks, Foxfield, Russell Ranch, and Three Springs.  Thousand Oaks contains 75 miles of open space that has trails for hiking, biking, or just leisurely walking. While this natural acreage TO the best of nature, another source of pride is the Civic Arts Plaza. Opened in 1994, this jewel of cultural arts has become a beacon for our region featuring world-class entertainment, musicals, concerts, children’s shows, ballets, and much more. Another world-class event that City is proud to be a part of is the Amgen Tour of California.



Westlake Village belongs to 3 schools districts: Conejo Valley Unified School District, Las Virgenes Unified School District and Ventura Unified School District. There are 9 K-12 schools in Westlake Village, CA, including 4 public schools and 5 private schools. There are 9 Westlake Village elementary schools, 4 Westlake Village middle schools, 3 Westlake Village high schools and 5 Westlake Village preschool schools.  Thousand Oaks is served by the Conejo Valley Unified School District. It includes numerous elementary schools, Colina Middle School, Redwood Middle School, and Los Cerritos Middle School. The high schools of the area include Thousand Oaks High School, Newbury Park High School, and Westlake High School. Also part of the school district are Sycamore Canyon Middle School and Sequoia Middle School, located in Newbury Park. Oaks Christian High School, while located immediately outside of Ventura County, matriculates numerous students from the county. La Reina High School is a private Roman Catholic, all-girls junior/senior high school. California Lutheran University is located in Thousand Oaks.
